Dry, rough and heavy, focused and simple — it’s not overly produced and that leaves delicate subtleties and twisted dynamics for an inquiring mind to study. There is lots of free space available for the mind to move in and operate about. Intricate harmonic relationships, strange rhythmic patterns and ambiguous movements produce the overall feeling of attachment to chaotic universe. This is not an easy listening but so is smooth jazz — just a matter of cultural context.
